THE PIECE

This compelling, original artist's proof etching titled "Moses" showcases a striking biblical narrative. The piece features a highly detailed, masterful portrait of Moses holding his iconic staff entwined with the brazen serpent, looming behind the prominent, textured figure of the golden calf in the foreground. The calf is distinctly accented with what appears to be hand-applied metallic gold leaf or paint, adding a dynamic contrast to the intricate, monochromatic linework of the etching.

This piece is sold in vintage, "as-is" condition. The artwork is housed under glass in a classic dark wood frame with an antiqued gold inner profile and a textured linen mat. The frame exhibits minor cosmetic wear, scuffs, and nicks typical of its age. Please note that the protective brown backing paper on the reverse shows distinct water stains along the top edge; however, the front-facing artwork and matting appear unaffected. A hanging wire is pre-installed.
